Sid, a young, school-aged cicada wants nothing more than to be in the Symphony when he grows up. His teacher holds auditions to test out developing tymbals (a cicada’s noisemaker), but Sid’s crescendo of hope fades into a diminuendo of sorrow when he finds he is unable to make ANY sound with his tymbals. This heartfelt character must find his true symphonic purpose with steel fortitude and unyielding hope.
